Top 2 Freeware Registry Cleaners That Improve PC Performance

The Windows Registry is the root ball of the operating system. Every little bit of system information is rooted in the registry, be it software, drivers, user information or registration data.

Over the lifetime of a computer, numerous tools are installed, updated, moved or removed. Even if done thoroughly, this can create a mess in the registry when files are left behind and references become outdated. As a result, the computer slows down, programs produce registry-related errors, and eventually the system becomes unstable.

There is a number of freeware registry cleaner apps out there that can fix common registry errors, such as missing shared DLLs, incorrect file extensions, invalid paths, missing shortcuts, orphan Active X objects, invalid devices, invalid links to startup programs, and lots more.

Here is a short review about the top 2 registry Cleaners. Take a look at that.

1. CCleaner : CCleaner definitely is the most popular Windows system optimization tool. It comes with a ton of features, one of them being a freeware registry cleaner.

CCleaner is available for all Windows versions.

If you’re a diligent user, who only installs programs he really needs and who uninstalls programs thoroughly, you won’t need a full-fledged deep registry cleaner. The registry cleaning feature included in CCleaner should be sufficient. And since CCleaner is a tool you should use in the first place, it’s very convenient.

CCleaner can not backup your registry. It’s advisable that you create a manual backup of your registry.

2.Eusing Free Registry Cleaner : Eusing’s Registry Cleaner is a tool dedicated to registry cleaning. It’s perfect for people who cannot be bo

thered as it is very basic and easy to use.

The tool is compatible with Windows 95 through Windows 7.

This freeware registry cleaner scans a little deep

er and finds many invalid entries that were not detected by CCleaner.

Through > File you can access additional features, such as a full registry or a Windows backup. If you run into problems, you can easily restore a previous registry version under > Action or the Tasks option.

Pure Sync: Free Backup and File Synchronization Tool

From Christoph Güntner’s company, Jumping Bytes , comes an “easy to use” backup and file synchronization tool that guides the user through complex settings with ease. Pure Sync scores high points all around, from a clearly laid out interface to advanced customization abilities and support for multiple storage mediums and transfer technologies.

Unlike Mozy, Carbonite or Jungle Disk, Pure Sync is aimed more at local backups and operations. It’s a useful tool if, for example, you use an external hard drive or a NAS (Network Attached Storage) for backup. Using Pure Sync, you can backup just the files that have changed, instead of manually copying everything over. Windows Vista and 7 have a built-in backup (Windows Backup) and synchronization function (Sync Center) but they’re not as easy to use and have a more limited feature set. Pure Sync is a timesaver and replaces two separate programs.

Pure Sync is a versatile tool – supporting local drives, server volumes such as MyServerfolder, MTP devices and WebDAV. If you are willing to fork out 14,90 € for the Pro version, you’ll get some additional features like copying open/locked files, Backing up to a FTP server and synchronization/backup with another user.

Using the wizard, virtually any user, no matter how tech-savvy they are, can set up either a backup, synchronize a folder or automatically download photos from a camera. All the settings are presented in the wizard and are easy to understand.

How to use Pure Sync

  1. The first step in setting up a profile is choosing a name for the profile.
  2. The second step requires you to select an operation mode for the profile: Synchronization, Backup or Photo mode.
  3. The third step is selecting the folders of the origin and destination.
  4. You can select criteria for discriminating between files: date, size, file type.
  5. Set up synchronization based on a schedule, when a connection is found, when a file is modified or manually.
PureSync is available for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and also works with Windows 7. You can download by clicking here.

Apple "MacBook Touch" MultiTouch Tablet Concept

Samsung S9110 watchphone

I always thought that if there was one wristphone that could change my mind about the whole idea, it would be LG’s GD910. But seems like I was wrong as Samsung has now announced the S9110 wristphone, which sounds like a better deal than the yet-to-be released GD910. The S9110 features a 1.76-inch 262k color touchscreen display, has 40MB of internal memory (no word on expansion), Bluetooth 2.1 , speakerphone, an mp3 player, and Outlook email sync. Sounds like a great deal for a watchphone right? Yeah, it does, but Samsung has gone one more step ahead and squeezed all this into a body that is just 11.98 mm thick, making this, according to the company, the world's thinnest touchscreen cellphone. Its first appearance will be at france by later this month. And it costs $640 approx.

5 Things you should know about Opera

Opera is one wonderful light weight and fast browser. Comparing it to Mozilla Firefox or any other browser may not be wise here but fully packed opera truly deserves something. Opera is just not a browser but also comes with an inbuilt Mail Client which is also quite light weight. I won’t start Browser war here again but the following are some shortcuts to make your job easier while browsing.

1. Apart from the normal CTRL + F search you can also use quick search in opera by pressing “.” (dot) and then typing the query words.

2. Opera comes with inbuilt mouse gesture support but to use them you have to enable them. Go to Tools Menu –> Preference –> Advanced –> Shortcuts and enable mouse gestures from there.

3. Also from the above preference window single-key shortcuts can be enabled. Single-key shortcuts are available here.

4. When you have several tabs opened you can switch between the tabs by keep holding the right click and then scrolling the mouse wheel to select the desired tab.

5. You can navigate the links using keyboard by pressing Shift + Arrow Keys and Enter to follow the link.
